An Everlasting Covenant

Introduction:

Stephens’ sermon before the Sanhedrin is based upon historical Biblical facts. Stephen had established his orthodoxy by starting with the account Abraham when God of all glory appeared to him. How could these Jewish religious leaders disagree with their own history and doctrine? Unless of course they have been blinded by Satan, so that their minds completely misinterpret the good news of God’s Grace.

      1. God swore an oath to Abraham – Heb. 6:13

      2. Not a bargain type covenant


    1. Covenant made with Noah – II Peter 2:5; 3:6-7

      1. Other examples of Covenants ( Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David)

      2. Don’t you know your covenants? – Luke 1:68-72


    1. The Miraculous Power of the Gospel

      1. If the gospel were not miraculous it could not save any of us.

      2. The Covenant with Abraham is miraculous – Gen. 18; Rom. 1:16
