II. The Sight of God - the ultimate reality of the universe
On a Throne - over all and above all - Daniel 4
Exalted - Proverbs 25:3
Clothed in majesty Psalm 104:1-2
III. The sight of the Angels - God is supremely revered
Their wings - face, feet, flew
Their words - Holy holy holy - so loud and reverberant that it shook the house
a. They think and feel what they are saying
The meaning of Holiness - the God-ness of God, unique, Divine, Gravity
a. Moral purity - perfection, absolute pure righteousness, worthiness
b. Sacred - treatment and attitude and regard of perfection
The whole earth is full of his glory
IV. The sight of Isaiah - the result of a right sight of God
Woe is me - prophetic pronouncement against himself
I am undone - no where to turn, differing sights, desire to flee Luke 5:4-11
I am a man of unclean lips - cause A, not worthy to speak or praise
For my eyes have seen the King - cause B, compared to this, no wonder
a. Our view of God shapes our view of the law and therefore of sin
b. Our view of God shapes our view of our own place
V. The Grace of the Gospel
Angels do nothing of their own accord, only the will of God
The altar, a holy sacrifice the source of pardon - propitiation - shedding of blood
Sin atoned for, pardon by grace not works - Hebrews 10:19
Conclusion
Labor to see God - our view of God shapes everything
Do not flee to the law to undo your undone-ness, but to the grace of the cross
