Matthew 13:10-17

Kingdom Secrets

Introduction:

We come to this new section regarding parables of the Kingdom of God. It has been rightly said that Matthew’s gospel presents the Lord Jesus Christ as, “King of Israel,” Mark presents Him as the “Son of Man,” one of the loftiest of titles in the Scripture and Luke represents Him as the “Servant.”

Out of the seven stories (Parables) given by our Lord, there appears to be an obvious division: Two sets of four and the trilogy. Example: The Sower and the Seed- The enemy who sows tares – The mustard seed – and the Yeast. (Taught before the multitude) The last three: The Hidden treasure – The fine pearl – and The dragnet – (Taught before the disciples only)

      3. Mysteries for faithful response – v.12; Matthew 25:14-30

  1. THE GOSPEL VISION

    1. Three specific purposes for parables:

      1. Past Prophecies – v.15-15; Isaiah 6:9-10

Turn To: Acts 28:23-31

      1. Present Blessing – v.16

        1. Paul’s conversion – Acts 9:1-19; Pro.20:12; Eph.1:18

  1. Have the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven been revealed to you?

If not stop closing your eyes to the truth and come repenting of your sin and believe on Christ to save you.

  1. Since the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven have been revealed to you, use your gifts that Jesus has given you. Invest in the Kingdom your talents in God’s Kingdom. Use it or lose it.
