The Path of Discipleship

Robert Frost’s Poem, “The Road Not Taken” The poem closes where the traveler finally makes up his mind to walk down the path less traveled by. “And that makes all the difference” The Path of discipleship is similar because it is not worn as the other paths of life. (Matt. 7:13, 14) Our text exhorts us to follow the Path of obedience; if we fail to do this according to Jesus we have no business calling Him Lord.

Study the Bible daily – R A Torrey
Study the Bible Systematically – (Not Bible Roulette)
Procedure –
Divide the book in chief sections and subsections
List the introductory parts, Doctrinal parts, Applications, and Outline the book, Ask pertinent questions
Key words – Find the origin of the word (Concordances)
Study the Bible comprehensively – II Tim. 3:16-17
Study the Bible devotionally – Psa 119:11; Phil.3:10; Rom.8:29;
Study the Bible to Memorize –
Study the Bible prayerfully – Daniel 9:1-3; 6:10,13
Conclusion:
When we endeavor to take this path of discipleship to study the Bible daily. You will find a freedom from SELF – Luke 9:29
When you hold to the teaching of the Bible you PROVE you are genuinely a disciple of Christ – John 8:31-32
